Hello

My name is Tom, and I am a photographer based in West Lancashire who strives to create art through photography. I primarily shoot digitally; however, I do have a love for film and darkroom also.

My work is an obsession, so every day and every shoot is an opportunity to develop my craft.

My Story

Taking pictures has been a major part of my life, and I am forever consumed with answering the question: Why is that image so compelling? From early childhood has been a constant passion and interest. I spent my early college years studying business, finance and IT and eventually working in Retail in various managerial roles.

After over 20 years of working in Retail, at the beginning of 2019, I decided to follow my dreams and pursue a photography career. I embarked on studying an HNC Photography course at West Lancashire College. Here, I was lucky enough to meet some like-minded people and be taught by one inspirational tutor who would open my eyes to the world of art and design.

Currently, I am studying a BA (Hons) Photography course at the University of Bolton. I have gained experience in studio lighting, darkroom, critical writing and working on location. I also have skills using Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Rush and Premiere Pro.

More recently, I completed a work placement at the University of Bolton involving the delivery of photography workshops to six form students. I enjoyed this immensely, and this has inspired me to start pursuing a career in teaching.

My aim is one day is to share my passion for photography with others.
